Adult Literacy Ministry

The Adult Literacy team is available to provide effective reading, writing, comprehension and communication skills to those who seek our support. Our commitment is to provide literacy services to the adult population of the church and in our community at large. Regardless of the root cause of the literacy challenge or the current circumstances of any person seeking literacy support, we carefully respect confidentiality. You can do it. We can help.

ALM (Adult Literacy Ministry) is an educational program for beginning adult readers and writers, offering resources and instruction through volunteer tutors and assisted learning. It operates out of the Hilltop Community Church campus.

Tutors are needed to help adults learn to read, write, and use computer technology. ALM is looking for volunteers who are “comfortable reading and writing, and who view learning as a continuous, active process.” Volunteers will tutor adults who are 18 and older, who, for a variety of reasons, never learned to read and write. Volunteers will receive training from ALM.
